Sherwood Forest was originally subdivided in 1945 in a densely forested area near urban Houston, with ample wildlife and its own water source, when Memorial Drive was a small “country” lane.
Today, Sherwood Forest is in the City of Houston, Spring Branch Independent School District, with large wooded lots, lakes and ravines. Being close to major Houston thoroughfares, Sherwood Forest is a relatively short travel time to downtown and most areas of West Houston.
The streets of Sherwood Forest, consisting of West Friar Tuck Lane, East Friar Tuck Lane, Little John Lane, and Sandringham Drive, are located adjacent to Memorial Drive west of the 610 Loop between Silber and Chimney Rock, and are protected by a 24 hour security patrol service.
